Booking Terms and Conditions

To ensure clarity and the best possible care for your dog during their stay with us, please review our full terms and conditions when making a booking.

By choosing to board your dog with us, you are agreeing to adhere to our Terms and Conditions.

Booking and Payment - How can I make a booking?

  • Bookings can be made using our online booking system. You can link to this from the make a booking page.
  • Bookings are charged per calendar day.
  • If the date you are looking for is not available, please check back as the landscape may change. Alternatively, you can email bookings@lhkennels.dog stating the dates you are looking for and we confirm if there is any availability. You can expect a response within 48 hours.
  • We accept cash, debit payments and bank transfers (please use your booking reference if you choose this option).
  • We reserve the right to cancel bookings we feel are made to simply 'hold dates'. We are a busy facility and are often booked in advance for peak periods, therefore we ask you to be organised with your bookings and only book dates you truly need.
  • We request that you ensure ALL your details are up to date and correct at the time of booking, this includes your contact details, emergency contact, vaccination information, microchip, dog's DOB and any medical declarations. It makes it safer for us to care for your dog when we have the correct information on file.

Cancellations and Amendments - Can I amend or cancel booking?

  • No-shows or same-day cancellations will be charged 100% of the booking fee.
  • Amendments or cancellations to booking dates are subject to availability and must be made at least 48 hours before the start of your booking.
  • Unless amendments are made 48 hours before the start of your booking, you are required to pay the full amount of your booking, regardless of the situation – this includes early pickups.

Health and Vaccination Requirements - Does my dog need vaccinations?

  • All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations, and proof must be provided prior to or at check-in.
  • Dogs showing signs of illness will not be admitted.
  • Owners must inform us of any medical or behavioural issues at the time of booking.
  • Kennel Cough Vaccination: As this is a live vaccination, there MUST be two clear weeks (14 days) between the dog receiving the vaccination and them staying with us. If there hasn't been sufficient time, unfortunately your booking won't be honoured and will be charged accordingly with our cancellation policy.

Check-In and Check-Out - What time can we arrive?

  • Bookings are charged per calendar day.
  • Check-in: between 8:00am – 5:00pm.
  • Check-out: 8:00am – 6:00pm.
  • Dogs coming for daycare can check in and out between 07:00am – 7:00pm.
  • Any drop offs or pick ups outside of these times will occur an additonal charge.

Exercise and enrichment - How often will my dog get to exercise?

  • Your dog will have four periods out of the kennel in the runs or Paddock. These take place at 7:00am, 11:00am, 3:00pm and 7:00pm.
  • Each period lasts about an hour and a half – with the main exercise at 11:00
  • We offer a range of enriching activities, depending on your dog's needs and personality, including interactive play, grooming, puzzle toys, treat-based games and more. Our aim is to keep every dog happy, engaged and stimulated throughout their stay with us.

Feeding and Medication - Do I bring my own food and can you administer medication?

  • We recommend bringing your dog’s usual food to avoid dietary issues. If not, a standard in-house diet will be provided (please note a change in diet can cause upset tummies so please take this into account)
  • If your dog has a specific dietary need, we are happy to assist in maintaining it. Please ensure feeding instructions are clear.
  • Please ensure there is enough food to last the duration of your dog's stay. If there isn't enough food provided and we are required to source this for you, there will be an additional charge.
  • We can administer medication, both prescription and over the counter.
  • All medications must be clearly labelled with dosage instructions, in the original packing.

Belongings - Can we bring along some home comforts?

  • We are able to provide a bed and bedding, however if you would prefer to use your own, please feel free. Please remember, Kennels are a different environment to home and beds may be chewed. However it can be beneficial for your dog to have a familiar smell, therefore please take this and your dogs behviour into account when making the decision.
  • You are welcome to bring toys or home comforts.
  • While we try our best to return all belongings, we cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged items (e.g., beds, toys). Please check you have everything you need before leaving.

Behaviour and Safety - Have concerns about your dog's behaviour?

  • Aggressive or uncontrollable dogs may be refused boarding at our discretion.
  • Dogs must be sociable and non-aggressive with staff and other dogs (unless special arrangements have been discussed).
  • If at any point we feel a dog is showing signs of aggression, we are within our rights to request immediate collection.
  • For the safety and well-being of all our guests and staff, we do not accept banned dog breeds, classified under current UK government legislation as dangerous or restricted. While we understand that individual dogs may have different temperaments, our policy is based on legal requirements and the need to ensure a safe, secure environment for all animals in our care.

Health Concerns, Emergencies and Insurance Cover - Please ensure your contacts are up to date!

ALL pre-existing medical conditions must be declared at the time of arrival.

  • Should we have any health concerns about your dog, we will make every attempt to contact you to discuss the issue.
  • Please ensure your emergency contact is up to date, and aware your dog is with us, especially if you are leaving the country.
  • In case of an emergency, or if we feel it is necessary for your dog to visit a vet - we will contact your listed veterinarian. If unavailable, we reserve the right to seek care from our affiliated vet at your expense.
  • Your dog is insured whilst it stays with us – this EXCLUDES and pre-existing conditions.
